When I was a child my Mum made us our own calendars and we had little gifts to open each day.

 2. Make Your own.. I bought this Body shop advent calendar a few years ago for about £50, which was amazing value as each item was around £7. But now I reuse the boxes and put gifts in for my daughter Angelique who is 10. I bought most of the items from Claires accessories as this weekend there is a ‘buy 3, get 3 for free’ deal on. There are also some chocolates but just not 24 days worth!

3.  Write words of love…I bought this calendar from Lidly for about £7. This year we are writing notes in of why we love each other. What a lovely way to start the day to read a note of gratitude and love. And all free too!

4. Buy a cosmetic calendar... In the black friday sale I got myself and Robbie two fabulous calendars that were only 23 euros each. Full of gorgeous cosmetics and man chemical free ones too. They are worth 300 euros each so fantastic value!
